Our Business

"Aquila" is the Latin term for  the golden eagle, a bird that is swift, clear, and decisive. The Aquila constelllation can be located slightly north of the celestial equator and is best seen from Earth during the summer.

Who We Are

Kathy Altaras is the owner of Aquila Media Productions. A Navy wife of thirty-three years, Kathy describes herself as a "camp follower" who also had two separate teaching careers in Texas and California, totaling twenty-two years. She holds a lifetime teaching credential in Texas and a California Clear Standard Secondary Teaching Credential. She retired from teaching in California and began consulting for teachers of gifted students. When asked to resurrect a small, Las Vegas corporation and publishing company, Kathy answered, "absolutely not!"

 Kathy likes exotic and remote travel, counting Mongolia, Machu Picchu, the Galapagos, and the Serengheti  among her favorite places.

She is not synesthetic, Indigo, or musically inclined. She lacks the precision of a good filmmaker and the accuracy of a true historian. She is an admitted Darwin groupie and loves being on the open sea in rough water.
